MORE WAYS TO GIVE

Endowment

When you give an endowment gift, you ensure we are able to reach more people, engage more students with the world around them, and bring more critical issues to our community today and in the future.

Your gift will be invested as part of the Council’s endowment portfolio. Each year, a portion of the value of our endowed fund will be used to support our mission and amplify our reach.

Your contribution grants the stability and security necessary to support thriving global engagement in Connecticut for generations to come.

Currently our endowment is held at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. If you are considering making a gift to our existing endowment, or would like to speak to someone regarding the creation of an endowment, please contact CEO Megan C. Torrey at mctorrey@ctwac.org.

Donor Advised Funds

A gift through your donor advised fund is a simple way to for you to make an immediate and profound impact. By providing a grant to the Council through your donor advised fund, you enable us to amplify our reach in the community and produce quality programming on critical international issues.

A donor advised fund is a great option that will give you an immediate tax benefit. If you already have a Donor Advised Fund, you can make an outright gift to the World Affairs Council of Connecticut, or designate the Council to receive a portion or all of the fund upon its termination.

To create a donor advised fund, you will establish a fund at a sponsoring entity. This includes community foundations, public charities, and well known investment companies. When you make your initial contribution to the fund through cash or appreciated assets, you can receive an immediate income tax deduction. Once established, you can suggest your favorite charities, such as the Council, to receive grants from your fund.

If you’re interested in leaving a legacy that is meaningful for you, please contact CEO Megan C. Torrey at mctorrey@ctwac.org.

Legacy Giving

Your planned gift provides a lasting impact and supports the future efforts of the Council to engage the community with critical international issues.

Legacy gifts can be given in the following ways:

  • Gifts through a will or trust (bequest)
  • Retirement Assets
  • Stocks and Bonds
  • Donor Advised Funds

Legacy gifts may be given towards our existing endowment, general operating support, or a designated account. For additional legacy gift options, please contact CEO Megan C. Torrey at mctorrey@ctwac.org.

Corporate Match

Did you know you could potentially double the impact of your gift?

Through corporate matching donations, your gift to the World Affairs Council of CT can go further. That means more students given the opportunity to investigate the world around them, more possibilities to engage our community with critical global issues, and more high quality events that promote a greater understanding of the world.
