| Topic: The Future of Immigration Policy |

| The Trump administration is exercising increasingly broad powers to enforce its immigration agenda – from data sharing between the IRS and ICE to revoking student visas and increasing deportations to external sites like the prison in El Salvador. These tactics and the grappling between the executive and judicial branches over deportation authority raise questions about privacy, due process, oversight, and protections for immigrants and citizens. What’s your reaction to these policies? What are the top goals U.S. immigration policy should pursue? Where should the line be drawn between individual rights and policy enforcement? What implications do the increased immigration crackdowns in the U.S., EU countries, and other countries around the world mean for the future of global migration and freedoms? This is a no-homework event, but supplemental articles will be provided to attendees. |
