Global Inequality: How Innovative Efforts are Closing the Gap and Saving Lives

In the fight against global inequality, what’s working, what’s not and how do we know?
In a special collaboration, the Presidents’ College and the World Affairs Council of CT present a discussion exploring today’s innovative global development efforts, the importance of uating what’s working and what’s not, and if these efforts have brought us any closer to closing the yawning international economic divide.
Featuring Annie Duflo, Executive Director of Innovations for Poverty Action in New Haven, CT and former Executive Director of the Centre for Microfinance in Chennai, India.
Presentation followed by a panel discussion featuring Dr. Stephen Markson, Professor of Sociology, Dr. Katharine Owens, Director of Environmental Studies, and Dr. Adryan Wallace, Assistant Professor of Politics and Government at the University of Hartford.
Moderated by Dr. Jane Horvath, Director of Economics and Political Science at the University of Hartford.
