SUMMARY:Model United Nations 2025
DESCRIPTION:The CTWAC Model United Nations brings together over 1\,100 Connecticut high school students to engage in debate and diplomacy\, preparing them to become our future leaders. \nThe Council’s MUN program is exclusively student-run\, offering students opportunities to take leadership positions and negotiate with peers. Students experience the inner workings of diplomacy as they tackle global controversies\, navigate crisis scenarios\, debate solutions\, and draft resolutions. Delegates also have the opportunity to travel to the UN Headquarters in New York\, meet diplomats from the countries they’ll represent\, and discuss timely issues with the policymakers currently working to solve them. \nThe World Affairs Council of Connecticut’s Model UN began in 1952 at Hartford Public High School and is now one of the largest and longest continuously running Model UN programs in the world. In its 73 years\, the program has impacted over 55\,000 students across Connecticut. \n\nLearn more about the CTWAC Model UN program and how to get involved here. \n\n\nParticipating Connecticut Schools\n \n\nSponsors\n \n \n  \nRoz & Alan Spier \n\nModel UN’s impact on the students: \n“I learned new skills every year I participated\, and though this was my last year with MUN\, the skills I’m walking away with are ones that I will carry with me forever.” \n“Through MUN\, I was able to craft my own opinions on our world’s pressing issues and work to create a resolution to solve them.” \n“Model UN gave me a place to learn more about the world\, while also giving me an outlet to better my public speaking skills and my research skills.” \n\nAbout the World Affairs Council of Connecticut \nThe World Affairs Council of Connecticut (CTWAC) is a non-profit\, non-partisan organization founded in 1924.
