His private sector clients included senior executives in Canada and internationally who sought public policy and strategic communications advice on key business and investment decisions. He was a frequent speaker to business groups and associations across the country as well as a sought after advisor to governments\, both in Canada and abroad. \nPrior to his work in the business community\, Consul General Clark was one of Canada’s most respected broadcast journalists. During his 45 year career\, he was posted as Bureau Chief to Washington DC and China\, in addition to working in more than 30 countries\, including tours in eight active war zones. His work earned him numerous awards in both Canada and the United States. Mr. Clark is a licensed pilot who has flown extensively in Canada’s north. He is married to Jane Clark and has three daughters. \n\nCarlos Iriarte | Consul General of Mexico in Boston \nCarlos Iriarte was appointed by the President of Mexico\, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and ratified on June 25\, 2025 by the Mexican Senate as Consul General of Mexico in Boston\, a position that encompasses the attention to the Mexican community and the promotion of the interests of our country in the states of Connecticut\, Maine\, Massachusetts\, New Hampshire\, Rhode Island and Vermont. He is married to Lucila Ivette Estrada Villanueva (1998)\, and is the father of two daughters. \nThroughout a life dedicated to public service\, Consul Iriarte has been a federal deputy (2015-2018 and 2021-2024) and local deputy (2009-2012) for the State of Mexico\, in addition to having been elected as municipal president of Huixquilucan\, a position he held between 2013 and 2014. As a federal deputy\, he was a member of the commissions of public security\, justice\, economy and foreign relations. The most recent reform to the Mexican Foreign Service Law was approved during his tenure as parliamentary coordinator during the LXIII Legislature with the agreement of all the political parties represented in the Chamber of Deputies. \nIn public administration\, he has served as Secretary of Social Development\, Deputy Secretary General of Government and Director General of Public Security in the State of Mexico; and as director of Sectoral Concertation in the General Directorate of Civil Protection of the Federal Ministry of the Interior. \nConsul Iriarte holds a PhD in Public Administration from the Universidad Anáhuac and a Master's degree in Finance from the same institution; a master's degree in Administration and Public Policy from ITESM; a law degree from the UNAM; and has diploma studies\, specialization in public and national security\, and public policies from the Universidad Iberoamericana\, ITAM and the John F. Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University\, respectively. Esteban Moctezuma Barragán\nAmbassador of Mexico to the U.S. \nAmbassador Esteban Moctezuma was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mexico to the United States of America by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He was ratified by the Senate of the Republic in February 2021 with 115 votes in favor of 116 attending senators. \nHe was secretary of public education since 2018. A former Senator\, he also previously served as Secretary of Social Development; Secretary of Interior; and more. He was responsible for implementing the autonomy of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (1994). \nIn civil society\, he served as Executive President of Fundación Azteca (2001-2018); as well as many more community organizations dedicated to public health and education. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs\, he served as Director General for Educational and Cultural Cooperation and as Deputy Director General for North America. Alberto was Director General for International Affairs at the National Council for Culture and the Arts of Mexico. He served also as Director of the Social Promotion Department at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He holds a BA in Sociology from that university and a Masters in Latin-American History from Georgetown University. Before that\, she was a Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania from September 2022\, where she was responsible for the coordination of European Affairs\, European bilateral and regional issues\, as well as national sanctions coordinator. \nFrom 2020-2022\, she was Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania\, tasked with investment and export promotion\, international cooperation\, including policy coordination of state-owned enterprises\, as well as chairing the interagency commission for export control. \nIn 2020\, she held the post of Chancellor and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. This position included responsibility for staff coordination\, legal and consular affairs. Between 2015-2020\, she served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Lithuania to the EU. These years were marked by the migration crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic. \nFrom 2009-2015\, she worked as an advisor and chief foreign policy advisor to the President of the Republic of Lithuania Ms. Dalia Grybauskaite. She was responsible for foreign policy coordination\, inter-institutional relations\, as well as the role of sherpa/EU advisor\, and in this respect took a leading position in preparing and coordinating the Lithuanian presidency of the EU Council in 2013. In 2014\, she was awarded the State Decoration Order "For Merit to Lithuania" Commander's Cross. Euy Whan Kim\nConsul General of the Republic of Korea in New York \nConsul General Euy Whan Kim assumed his role as the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in New York on December 23\, 2022. As an accomplished author of six books and a global expert in public affairs and policy\, he brings more than three decades of diverse experience in public service to his current position. \nBefore becoming Consul General\, Mr. Kim held various positions within the Korean government. He served as the Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) from July 2019 to December 2020. This appointment followed his secondment to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a Senior Anti-Corruption Advisor in October 2017. \nBeginning in March 2011\, he took on multiple Director-General roles within the ACRC\, leading the Bureaus of Anti-Corruption\, Administrative Appeal\, and Ombudsman. In 2008\, Mr. Kim served as Deputy Secretary to the President for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Economic Affairs and Public Relations Planning. From 2002\, he held various positions at the Korea Independent Commission Against Corruption (KICAC)\, including Chief Director and Director of several divisions. \nBefore focusing on anti-corruption\, he worked for the Korea Fair Trade Commission\, the country's antitrust watchdog. Mr. Kim's career began in 1991 at the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs after passing the 34th High Civil Service Examination in 1990. Mr. Kim is married with one daughter. Before joining the DPC\, Betsy served for three years on the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship\, most recently as Chief Counsel. Prior to this\, she was Director of Government Relations at the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) in Washington\, D.C. \nKica Matos is the president of the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) and the Immigrant Justice Fund (IJF). She is also a Distinguished Practitioner at Yale University’s Brady Johnson Program in Grand Strategy. In 2021\, she was inducted into the CT Women’s Hall of Fame. \nAngelica Idrovo Castillo is an undocumented student and activist. She was born in Cuenca\, Ecuador and migrated to the U.S. at age 12. At 23 she became the Co-Executive Director of CT Students for a Dream (C4D). She now co-leads the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ecuador National Coalition. Angelica was recognized in “Connecticut 40 under 40: Class of 2018” and was recognized by Ecuador’s National Assembly in December 2019 as a fighter for immigrant rights. \nModerator Megan C. Torrey is currently the CEO of the World Affairs Council of Connecticut (CTWAC). In his leadership role\, Chris helped IRIS become a national Welcome Corps PSO and Connecticut’s largest refugee resettlement agency\, working with community groups nationwide to welcome thousands of refugees and immigrants to their new homes. Chris played a central role in IRIS’ commitment of piloting sponsorship models in the U.S. Chris’ passion for serving others started in 1977 when he became a Peace Corps Volunteer in Muscat\, Oman. Over the course of his 12 years of experience in the West Bank and Gaza Strip\, he held leadership roles at Save the Children\, American Friends Service Committee\, and in 1989 he made headlines as the first American abducted and held hostage in Gaza. Since then\, he has only grown more devoted to helping those in need. In addition to this\, Chris negotiated the terms of the first fact-finding missions to Syria and Iran as Executive Director of Human Rights Watch – Middle East. Chris is a driven and compassionate leader whose work has positively impacted countless lives.
