DESCRIPTION:CTWAC and the Connecticut Immigrant and Refugee Coalition (CIRC) are celebrating the 20th annual Immigrant Day. Join us in honoring the extraordinary accomplishments of Connecticut immigrants on May 2nd at the Connecticut State Capitol. \n  \nFeaturing Keynote Speaker:  \nRafael Perez-Escamilla\, M.S.\, Ph.D.\, Doctor Honoris Causa \nRafael Perez-Escamilla is a tenured Professor of Epidemiology & Public Health and Director of the Global Health Concentration and the Office of Public Health Practice at the Yale School of Public Health. His maternal-child nutrition research program has led to improvements in breastfeeding\, childhood obesity\, childhood anemia\, and household food security policies and programs in Connecticut\, the U.S. and globally. He has been a senior scientific advisor to UNICEF\, the World Health Organization\, FAO\, the World Bank\, and many more. \n  \nRefreshments provided\, featuring global cuisine from local Connecticut restaurants. \nEvent is free and open to the public. Walk-ins welcome.
