SUMMARY:Ambassador Robert Ford: Syrian Conflict and Refugee Crisis
DESCRIPTION:Is there a new path forward in Syria? Deemed the worst humanitarian crisis of our time\, the ongoing conflict has spanned six years\, claimed an estimated 470\,000 lives\, and forced 11 million Syrians from their homes. Ambassador Robert Ford will discuss the conflict in Syria\, Russia’s involvement\, and the path forward for the United States. We will also be joined by Chris George\, Executive Director of IRIS\, to discuss the refugee crisis and the national response to refugee resettlement. \nFeaturing Ambassador Robert Ford\, senior fellow at the Middle East Institute in Washington\, senior fellow at the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs\, and former United States ambassador to Syria from 2011-2014.
