DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a welcome reception for the new Brazilian Consul-General in Hartford\, Ambassador Fernando Mello Barreto. \nBorn in São Paulo\, Brazil\, Ambassador Barreto graduated from the University of São Paulo’s Law School in 1972\, and obtained a master of laws from Columbia University in 1974. After practicing law in São Paulo and New York he worked in several positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs\, including as the minister’s chief of staff. He has had eight diplomatic postings to countries in North America\, Europe\, and the Pacific\, including positions as an Ambassador and Consul-General in London\, England\, Canberra\, Australia\, and Boston\, Massachusetts.  \nEvent Details:  \nThe reception will be held in the Hartford Club main lobby and will begin at 5:30 PM and end at 7:00 PM.  \nThe cost is free for World Affairs Council of Connecticut members and $25 for non-members.  \nFor questions on registration or WACCT membership please contact our office at 860-241-6118 or email info@ctwac.org
